Zuvor hatte ein Pilotprojekt stattgefunden. Es handelt sich wohl um den ersten formellen kommerziellen Einsatz eines humanoiden Roboters mit dem Konzept Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS). Digit wird mit der Cloud-Automatisierungsplattform Agility Arc integriert, damit mehrere Roboter verwaltet und die Betriebsabl\u00e4ufe optimiert werden k\u00f6nnen. Zuk\u00fcnftige Aufgaben f\u00fcr Digit sollen neben dem Transport von Beh\u00e4ltern weitere schwere und monotone Aufgaben umfassen, insgesamt mit dem Ziel, menschliche Mitarbeiter zu entlasten. GXO und Agility Robotics planen, die Nutzung von Digit schrittweise auszuweiten und neue Anwendungsbereiche zu finden. Andere Unternehmen wie\u00a0BMW, Mercedes-Benz und Nio treiben ebenfalls den Einsatz humanoider Roboter in Fabriken voran, jedoch noch nicht in einem vergleichbaren Umfang. Nach Oliver Bendel k\u00f6nnen Digit, Atlas, Figure 01, H1, G1 und andere Modelle als Vorstufen von\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.informationsethik.net\/the-universal-robot-at-robophilosophy-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">universellen Robotern<\/a>\u00a0aufgefasst werden.
